I think the web server that Timothy supplied would be an awesome application for such a tutorial.
I think for now, just posting it up somewhere for download and directing people to try that out after they have gone thru the existing Merlin tutorials would be great too. All of the tutorials currently focus on specific component features and a more solid "real" application oriented example would round up the initial tutorial set. Thoughts?
