I think the web server that Timothy supplied would be an awesome application for such a tutorial.

I wrote the tutorial with the merlin tutorial suite in mind. In fact, it uses the tutorial package name and it's maven project.xml is intended to derived from the tutorial's main project.xml. The attachment in this thread should be close to ready for inclusion in the tutorial distros.
I think the source files include the Apache license...
I guess what you are looking for is mods to the merlin getting started advanced site docs so that HTML will be included on the merlin site regarding this tutorial?
If so... I could probably work that in this Sunday afternoon :D
