To the point of the thread, though, @avalon.dependency out to be inherited. Perhaps with a way to explicitly suppress the inheritance when you don't want it. The dependencies of a base class, when you're using inheritance correctly, *should* be inherited. As should the @avalon.service tags. They're part of the class' contract, which is inherited.
I agree. The code in question is in meta/tools/src/..../builder/tags/*.
There are currently a stack of activities going on relative to the 3.3 code base which is keeping a bunch of us somewhat overloaded with deep internals. If your interested in digging into the code dealing with the tag handling I'd be interested in applying a patch.
