I hate when I accidentally hit ctrl-enter...

I figured that what I was asking for would require work no matter where I
went to unless there was some magic software that I never heard about or
that cost an obnoxious amount of money so helping out with the project,
assuming I get management buy-in to do the project in the first place, is
within my scope.

I have never worked w/ JMX before but the O'Reilly book is sitting on my
bookshelf making me feel smarter for having bought it. I might could
actually read it and learn something...

My personal learning style is that I work best w/ a combination of docs
containing descriptions and examples and then trying my own code and
figuring out where I screwed up by going back to the example. I know from
follow-up emails that the Wiki is under construction so I don't feel too bad
about saying that the docs just aren't there.

Is there a collection of sample applications (with good comments oh please
oh please) that run within Avalon? Did I read correctly that Tomcat uses
Avalon?

Still in research mode but willing to learn and if I get buy-in willing to
code.
