Gang, The Board have met to discuss the Metro proposal and although I don't think I am authorized to reveal the entire comment (fairly long), I choose well selected snippets;
<quote> The Board did not approve the Metro resolution as written. We have significant reservations around including Stephen McConnell on any PMC at the ASF. <snip/> The Board has no position or view on enabling commit access for Stephen </quote> This means that the position of the Board currently is that the Board will not accept any PMC with Stephen McConnell in it. Clarification on this issue was not given, and has been requested separately. <quote> There are definitely some reservations on the Board around Metro, even with the modified PMC member list. </quote> This means that the Board is not entirely convinced of the need for Metro, even without Stephen on the PMC. Then there is an invitation to the Metro proponents to start a dialogue with the Board on how to proceed with this proposal, including a note that if any Director opposes strongly, the others will concur with a deferral, urging us to work out all concerns that the individual Directors have.
