Hi,
I installed successfully Beonex communicator but run into problems:
- [Annoyance only] On installation Beonex comes up with an empty alert box,
I clicked 'yes' but this is surely not professional. ;-)
- [Crash] After installation of PSM (Security Manager) I was unable to
use it. SSL connections seems to work (SSL Test did work ok and told me
128 bit RC4 is implemented) but selection of the security manager from
the Beonex menu results in a crash (invalid page in PSM.EXE) and Beonex
locks up completely. The same crash can be triggered if I start PSM.EXE
directly - is this a known problem? What can I do to make it work?
- [Show Stopper] I was unable to install Java from ftp.netscape.com,
Beonex start the download (happy blinkenlights at the router, so data is
coming in) but tells me a few minutes afterwards it timed out waiting
for ftp.netscape.com...? tcpdump also shows data is incoming...?
- [Feature request] Sometimes Beonex seems to download but the user cannot
tell - there is no feedback. This is undesirable as people may think
Beonex has crashed but in fact it hasn't.
Otherwise it seems to run quite stable and performs well.
