It must be mentioned that AOL Mail can not be retrieved with beonex. If 
this ist wanted, Netscape should be used instead.
AOL can be used as dialup-provider. Put it in the background and work 
with beonex.
Additionally a new Mail-provider is needed if AOL shall be replaced.

Partly. The Mail module must be started manually, that's right. But the 
mails can be retrieved automatically if defined in the mail account 
settings (e.g. every 10 Minutes or so)

Normally You get a "New Mail" notification. But sometimes it does not 
work. See Mozilla 1.0 release notes.
