Hi Heather and TJ, It’s correct that you do not need to update the drop-down options one by one. When choose un update on the data source side, you will be prompted whether you'd like to update 'options' or not. When you choose "yes", update will connect the the DB and retrieve all unique values for each filter to re-populate the drop-down options. Of course if there is any problem with database connection you will encounter exceptions, please check the log information in the console for more information.
That said, it is still possible to update the options for a given filter by right-click the filter then choose 'Dropdown list'. This feature is to offer more flexibility to the users. I’m not seeing an update though when right-clicking on an individual filter in MC? tj From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Estrella, Heather Sent: Friday, July 01, 2011 8:30 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: [BioMart Users] Question about updating local databases Hi, I have a quick question about local database updates in MartConfigurator. Do I need to update each of the filters for our internal databases individually (i.e. right click on each filter, select the local datasets and click “Update” in each config) or just make sure at least one of them updates to ensure the database connection is OK? Thanks, Heather
