Thank you, @jgotteswinter and @bhouse-nexthop. I agree that running anything outside of the LTS-supported version in production is a definite no-go. In our non-prod environments, we had to generate artificial load in order to reproduce the symptom. In production, we monitor CPU usage over time and restart the services when CPU utilization climbs too high. If my tests are correct, by the end of this week, or early next week, I should be able to identify where the bisection isolates the issue. From there, I can work with Canonical to further narrow it down or adjust our approach as needed.
