Yes the auth-fw sample does not work on a macosX 10.3.8, tomcat 5.0.24, cocoon 2.1.7, jdk 1.4.2 But you are right, the problem comes from that environment, I have been able to install and run the auth-fw sample ok at home on a winxp sp1, tomcat 5.0.28, cocoon 2.1.7, jdk 1.4.2_07.
