Yes the auth-fw sample does not work on a macosX 10.3.8, tomcat 5.0.24, cocoon 2.1.7, jdk 1.4.2
This surprises me. I have been able to use the samples on Mac OS X 10.3.8 and 10.3.9 with JDK 1.4.2_05, tomcat 5.0.28, cocoon 2.1.6. When the auth-fw sample does not work, do you see anything in the logs?
