Why is there a binary download available, if (hopefully most) users build their apps with maven and dependencies are obtained automatically?
I guess it's a comfort for those not able to use Maven for some reason. I think of it as a transitional thing.
For those of us trying to get to grips with Maven, SSF, Blocks etc this is a scary time! The results are well worth it though. When I think back to the Joy I felt getting Bertrand's Cocoon Bricks demo working and how it magically patched various files automatically when a new version of Cocoon was released I knew there had to be a better way ;-)
