I invested this weekend to bring the svg-import distribution up to date.
The filter now also works in the OOo 2.3 development snapshot. The Batik
library has been updated to the current version with all dependencies.
For me, the filter now works both in OOo 2.2 and OOo 2.3. Details can be
found at
http://www.ipd.uni-karlsruhe.de/~hauma/svg-import/
Please test, whether you can confirm that OOo 2.3 is now supported - and
spread the word... :-)
