Hi *

This is the first stable build of OOo2 I've had a chance to examine (80) and it seems the "date switching bug" may still be present in queries. First off let me say I'm relying on other people's Debian builds to install and also while the language is set to UK, the user interface is set to "default" with the only other option being USA. The column format is also set to UK.

Basically if you create a query (I did it against a MySQL db via ODBC) that contains a date field. Try entering the following dates:
a. 21st Dec 2004 in international format, YYYY-MM-DD, it changes to #21/12/2004# which is correct for the UK format (DD/MM/YYYY)

Okay for international dates, let's try UK locale...
b. 21st Dec 2004 in UK format, '21-12-2004' and it changes to #21/12/2004#, again correct.
[This date can't be interpreted as an American date because it would be 12th of Month 21, 2004]

The problem comes in this final UK example...
c. 1st Dec 2004 in UK format, '01-12-2004' and it suddenly changes to the USA format, rewriting it as #12/01/2004# which it then treats as a UK date (thinking it is 12th January 2004).

My questions are:
1. Is it resolved in a later build, such as 86?
2. Is it something to do with the locale (even though it works for some dates)?
3. Shall I continue with the existing bug, http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=26655 , or file a new one?

Thanks,

P h i l l
