I trying to solve problem with use of MyODBC driver which do not support
Unicode UTF-8.
I have MySQL 4.1 database server which contains data in UTF-8, but when I
connect it with OO 1.1.4 or 2.0 beta i have wrong characters in text fields,
because MySQL ODBC driver can not support unicode.
(I use WinXP Proffesional if this is important)
Question is:
Is it there some way to connect MySQL directly to OO, without ODBC?
When I trying to create new data source, and set Database type to MySQL,
there is on MySQL tab two ways - use ODBC source (bad) and use Connector/j3
where is needed to set MySQL JDBC driver class (there is set by default to
com.mysql.jdbc.Driver). Using on connector/j3 is impossible because I have
driver error (error code: 1000, The specified driver could not be loaded!)
Of course on WinXP I have ODBC, but is there some JDBC driver class which
work on Win, not only on Linux?
