Hi,
I'm working with Linux FC4_64 (AMD 3000+, 1GB, 80 GB HD) with OOo
2.0RC2.
I want to connect to my MySQL database. The mysql ODBC drivers were
already installed (in /usr/lib64). I changed the
default /etc/odbcinst.ini and odbc.ini to contain the correct data.
"mysql -u test" (from a user account) as well as "isql database-test
test" worked without any problem. So far so good.
However when I want to test the database (File -> wizard -> Address Data
Source -> Other(etc) -> Settings -> MYSQL (ODBC) -> Browse) I get
perfectly "MySQL-test" which is the database I want. However, when I
enter the correct user-name en click on the "test" button I get:
" [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib
'/usr/lib64/libmyodbc.so' : /usr/lib64/libmyodbc.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory".
I can assure you that the library exists. I have the nagging feeling
that this is a 64 bit problem as some other programs also have problems
with the architecture. As the connector with Evolution has disappeared I
have to store my addresses in a mysql database to integrate with OOo.
Can somebody give some help, or a clue where the problem arises (I'm
reasonably fluent with Linux working with Unix from the moment it became
available (on a DEC PDP11 !).
Joep
