Flat-file and Calc are always readonly, but this has nothing to do with
primary keys (and, btw., _nothing_ changed in this respect between 1.x
and 2.0).

In my original post in this thread, I explained that PKs are only *one*
way to ensure updatability, the other way needs to be supported by the
respective backend.
Even then, there are more reasons why a certain backend type may not be
updatable, most obvious: It's simply not implemented - and exactly this
is the case for the Calc and the flat-file driver.
