I installed Java 1.5 & OpenOffice 2.0.

I created a new database called "Stuff"

When I try to create the tables, I get the error message:

The connection to the data source "Stuff" could not be established.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

This error message was not listed in the FAQ

(I am running Agnula Linux (Debian) and installed from the repositories.)

This sounds a little bit like your installation is missing the
hsqldb.jar - do you find it in <installation>/program/classes?

I have two copies, however they appear to point to the same location.

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2005-11-22 20:29 /usr/share/java/hsqldb.jar -> hsqldb-1.8.0.2.jar

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 2005-11-22 21:18 /usr/share/java/openoffice/hsqldb.jar -> ../hsqldb.jar

My Java version gives:
demudi:/usr/lib/menu# java -version
java version "1.5.0_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_05-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_05-b05, mixed mode, sharing)

I am running Agnula (Demudi) Linux, I installed OpenOffice 2.0.0-2 via Synaptic Package Manager (from Debian Repositories).

Thank you
Douglas
