Hi Drew,

That's an impressive list to start with ;-). One thing I have been
looking at for a while is a billing and accounts application. At the
moment we are heading towards using Dolibarr (http://www.dolibarr.com).
Although that web page is in French, an international site has been
created (I'll have to fish out the address), because Dolibarr uses
dictionaries to propose a multi-language solution, that adapts the
language to the browser locale identification.

Dolibarr is a LAMP application, and heavily uses PHP. It can also run
with a postgresql backend. In my opinion it should be possible to use
the underlying database structure and come up with something that looks
like a Base application in OOo, with access to calc or writer templates
for estimates, invoicing and reports, and OOoBasic to tie it all
together. Obviously, Dolibarr isn't the only such application out there,
and was initially designed with French billing and accounting in mind,
and the accounts management part is still very rudimentary compared to
full blown accounts management packages, but you get my drift.

Anyway, that is the kind of thing I'm looking at, so I would willingly
contribute (what little skill I have) to other applications of a similar
nature if that is where you see your project as heading.
