Well, looks like this idea will at least get a chance.

An inagural project has been found. It is a legal case management system (LCMS) for small law firms. The 'Client' is SheltonLegal.net and all work performed will be released under the GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE 2.1. The LCMS will initially be developed using a Base embedded database with provisions to support multiple user installations utilizing a server mode RDBMS to follow.

A copy for distribution of the finished application will be maintained at http://sourceforge.net/projects/oobasestation

I truly believe that building and distributing market specific solutions utilizing OpenOffice will be an enormous boost to it's acceptance.

That is all the information I have for the moment. As more details of the applications requirements are worked out I will post calls for volunteers both on the sourceforge servers and on this list. At a minimum I am sure to be back asking for advice on specifc coding tasks.

More then coding advice, I am really hoping for some mentoring on managing an open source project, because I have never actually done that before.

Thanks

Andrew 'Drew' Jensen
