Hi All Yesterday after many tries with old equipment I managed to get 2 Linux computers to network with 3 Windows computers using Samba.
Then I made a test data base in one computer and stored the same database in all computers. I was then able to open and use the test database in all computers. I know by now someone will be lost so I will explain futher. Five computers A, B, C, D, & E. Placed same database in all five [A, B, C, D, & E] Then the database in A was accessable to all five computers A, B, C, D, & E. - repeat for B, C, D, & E. This means that on a production bases I can have a data base located in any one of the machines access it from all five boxes and move it around from one box to another as required. I go through all this simply to say express thanks and demonstrate all the hard work creating OpenOffice Database is appreciated.
