Thanks!
I have read through your discussions, and here is my 2 cents.
The reason why I want this is because that we are using Base as a
"datasource" manager of our application. The feature we want most is a
friendly guery designer which can be used to design custom queries.
The query designer is amazing. But since the queries can only be
viewed in Base. This is somewhat a waste.
Hello Ii Pan,

I don't quite understand what you mean by this statement.
If the queries can be
queried by other applications, users can find a new way to use Base.
I know Access can do this. Oh yes we can't say it is cool just because
Access do this, but many user do use it this way.

What do you mena by 'queried by other applications'? If you where to write an applicaion in VB, C#, C++, Delphi, Java, or Delphi (Lazarus)  you could gain access to either the SQL command or the rowset returned by a Base query object.
I think if the queries can cache the data locally, it will be even better.

Hi Li Pan,

sorry, I mean a query(those designed by Base's query designer, not a
view in Oracle) called test

Yes, in this case "select * from test" will probably be possible after
this feature has been implemented.

Ciao
Frank
