You do not need a separate mdbtools. Once the feature is integrated, you
will be able to use .mdb files on Linux out-of-the-box, since the
necessary mdbtools libraries will be part of OOo.

That's the concept of OOo: If you don't have a database document with
embedded data (which is the "Create new database" option in the wizard),
then your database document (.odb) will only contain how to access the
actual data - the .mdb file in your case.
