Hi Andrew, Phh. Put your mail on-hold when first seeing it's that long, now I found you requested some timely responses in it ... Sorry, but sometimes you simply lose me with the astonishing amount of work done in a short time ... Be warned that this won't change, due to the limited amount of time I have for this; but I'm always glad to see when you proceed :)

Okay, my gut feeling is: Let's start with the smallest of the scenarios - probably the teacher's one. The reason for this (except raising the chances I find time to participate :))) is that I'm sceptical against design-then-implement projects of this scale. That is, I am sure there will be the need for evolution of the example (as your 5th teacher shows). Trying to capture all possible needs in the first run and then just go and implement it is, IMO, probably to concentrate things which are not strictly needed for the effect of learning. Or, the other way round: I would love a small example which allows the user to learn things - call me ignorant, but I don't really care whether the user can use this example unchanged in her own business processes. There's too much different business processes to have such a hope ... So, my suggestion is: Let's start with a small one, give people the chance to accomodate to it (faint-hearted as I am :), I would be repeled by some of the more complex examples). Once we have that base, let's look - what common problems we still have to solve and how we could extend the example to cover them and - what would be logical extensions of the example and what common problems we could address when doing them So, my vote is for the teacher's DB, I'd say.
