2.1 will have this in the DSE, but this obviously doesn't help you here :-\ I suggest that the ods is created with an OnLoad macro, which tries to locate the .odb, and registers it automatically with a fixed name (if not already done). This would impose a restriction such as the .odb and .ods have to be located in the same folder, but with this, it would work.
