Hi Ray, > Please advise if there is a way to extract the connection state info.
There is no such thing as connection state info. There is *no* connection information persistent across OOo sessions. So, I suppose something corrupted your installation, but I don't yet have a clue what and how. > Ironically I still have not figured out > how I messed up the OO Base connection. which would be a very interesting part :( > I temporarily made OO Base work by adding another version of Java JRE. > Now 2 versions of JRE exist on my PC. > > The working and failure behavior of OO Base HSQL connections > can now be turned on and off reproducibly > by alternating OO Java reference between Java JRE's. > > Java JRE 1.5.0-08 OO Base currently working > Java JRE 1.4.2-07 OO Base currently not working Which suggests your JRE is somehow defective. Things you could try, please: - Do connections to non-embedded HSQL databases work? Try creating a Base connection of type "JDBC", with JDBC URL "jdbc:hsqldb:file:foo", with a driver class "org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver". - Does other Java-dependent functionality work? Try the Fax or Agenda wizard, for example.
