Hi Brian, >>Did you adjust the "databaseURLOrRegisteredName" value in line 5 of the >>macro? To an URL or to a registered name? > > No. I don't have an URL or registered name.
You certainly have an URL :), as that's the URL of the database file you opened. If your file is, say, in /foo/bar/database.odb, then the URL to enter in line 5 is file:///foo/bar/database.odb. > When I'm just making queries and forms within the oo.org native database file > itself, do I still have to register it? No, no need to. registering only allows you to address databases with a fixed location by a short name. > I couldn't find much information about what registering really did or how to > do it in a current version. Tools/Options/OpenOffice.org Base/Databases. > I did this command in the query window as instructed by that web page, pressed > the "Run SQL Direct" button, and get an error: > Unknown function: getFullDatabaseProductVersion in statement [call > "org.hsqldb.Library.getFullDatabaseProductVersion"()] Which means you have a version < 1.8.0.5, which means OOo is using a version *not* shipped with OOo, but present somewhere else in your system. Did you try the CLASSPATH-thingie I mentioned in my previous mail?
