Thank your for your patience and help.  I've added the file URL using the
example you provided and the macro now runs without error and shows 1.8.0

Yes.  Judging from the rpms, I think it is 1.8.0.4

I had trouble understanding the CLASSPATH environment variable advice.  I did
echo $CLASSPATH in a bash shell (the konsole program in kde) and just a blank
line printed.
