Currently it is not in a mode where I would put a dev build on OOo but
2.3 is not that long away. So ... It wouldn't take that long I believe.
Along that line, I notice that the GullFOOS blog tags list not only
Base but Extensions. Does this imply that the integration will be as a
separate extension package and not as part of the standard
distribution?
The report designer will be available as oxt extension package. So you
can install it for 2.3 or above.
If it is an extension package, is there any chance it would be
backward compatible to OOo 2.1?

So far only I only see the Pentaho Report Designer mentioned (
although the Pentaho press release hints at further integration later
), is there any plans to include the Pentaho Report Design Wizard
also?
I haven't the time yet to look at this one, (but I'll will). May be we
could use (if allowed) and don't have to write our own ;-)
