[dba-users] Using a filter with a text box

Is there a way to set up a filter that can work with a text box and 
button? I'm trying to avoid the find record button and want to be able 
to have a text entry box on a form that will filter the data for the 
record entered into the text box when the button is pushed. Is this the 
right way to go about this or should I be trying to use a query with the 
text box and button setup?
