You mentioned in your example "First - since ClientID is assumed to be a numeric value there was no need to single quote the text value." for this line, oDataForm.Filter = "ClientID = " & otextBox.Text. I'm using a string that is a combination of numerals and letters, ex 'abc123', and I tried to adjust the line to this, oDataForm.Filter = "DocNo: = '" & otextBox.Text "'", adding my field name and the single quotes to encapsulate the alphanumeric string. I keep getting a syntax error and was wondering is this the proper way to handle an alphanumeric string?

One other question, is the BASIC language used to create the macros just like Visual Basic or is it Visual Basic?
