Actually there are three places already.
The wiki
The extensions site
The User Community Forum
OK - I like the third choice. But before you think me simply bias let me
tell you why.
One it is easy for users to give feedback and get responses.
Two, the site is looking at dedicating fourms just to the dissemination
of small tutorial ( Tip, How To ) style posts, this includes hosting
files for download attached to the posts.
Third - as with the wiki and the extensions repository, users need not
be registered to read the posts and download the files - only to ask
questions and even that may ( MAY ) change.
( we will also be adding a user rating system to the site for these
posts, by the way - similar to the extension site again )
The extensions site is close second in my mind - and no reason why both
can't work for different people (contributors).
Interactive discussion with the users of the files however is more
limited at this site, although they do have a way to post comments.
The wiki - well, has its advantages perhaps. But I think it is even less
inviting for end users to interact.
As for existing template databases there are a few floating around -
although most are just to show one issue or another. Not really as DB
templates - even though those at OOoForum have generated some of the
most actively read posts on the site.
So if you are in - I;m in and will help where I can - I can promise you
that the forum would put in place whatever is needed to make it work and
I bet the other forums would do the same.
