OK, in parsing mode I can leave out the doublequotes around identifiers.

Do you refer to "standard drivers" as odbc and jdbc drivers and to
"dedicated drivers" as the integrated ones? Base comes with it's own
dedicated driver? No need for MySQL via odbc nor jdbc?
