Hi,

Installed the 3.0 development build under XP the other day and one of
the things that surprised me was the option in the 'Connect to
external database" list - AdaBase.
Is that a glitch or a new option? ( I installed the Google distro of
StarOffice a while back and that did include AdaBase, but no other
install of OO.o has picked up on it before )
If it is a feature now will the engine be part of the OO.o distribution?
this is one of the improvements that should/might/will be included in
the OOo 3.0 release. Sorry, cannot find a web site announcement for
this change. Currently we see this in the 3.0 Beta builds.
When and if this feature gets final, OpenOffice.org 3.0 will have the
same UI for maintaining Adabas databases that StarOffice always had.
However, the Adabas binaries are no longer included, not for OOo and
not for StarOffice. They are available from the Adabas site.
Thank you Uwe,
One more question if I may. Looking at the source files for 2.4 it
appears there is full copy of BerkelyDB in there, I don't know when it
arrived, that wasn't there last time I pulled down the source. ( IIRC )
I don't suppose there is another surprise lurking? ( Then again if there
where it wouldn't be a surprise if you talked about it would it.. *smile* )
Thanks again
