I've been trying to work on this project on and off for a year or two now
and keep giving up because the learning curve gets to be too much.
Decided to give it another try and I'm stuck right from the start line.
I have the database set up, registered, a couple of tables with data -- no
problem.
When I view data sources in my spreadsheet, they come up fine, and I can
do, so far, anything I want with them *except* get the data into the
spreadsheet.
When I try to drag 'n' drop a field into the spreadsheet, the "Text
Import" dialog opens, but then it locks up and I have to kill the OOo from
the task manager.
Ideally, this is not how I want to use the database -- too clunky -- but I
figured this would be a good start. Oops! :-D
I found an old message (from 2005) referencing a similar problem, and
issue 39146, but that was marked "fixed" long ago, so I don't think that's
my problem.
Okay -- while I was typing this message, the drag 'n' drop completed -- so
it took about five minutes. I'm trying it again and it's still sitting
there. Resources problem? Anything I can do to speed this up so it's
actually useful? CPU is at 10% or less.
