Hi,

this is on base m37, aqua, postgresql and jdbc (the same problem is also there in OO3.0 release),

after some time with this issue I must say this is really annoying: the time required to skip from first to last record on somewhat bigger datasets:

when I open a table with about 40.000 sets of ca. 20 not so big fields the first recordlist opens rather quickly, but to jump to the last record takes several minutes. This is not so with other clients using jdbc (where it only takes a few seconds, alomst independent of amount of records). A few weeks ago I reported this issue for a comparable dataset containing 200.000 records, where jumping from first to last takes around halph an hour (most users would think Base crashed, I am sure). I have to jump from first to last in order to be able to select this data for import into a calc-spreadsheet, where I use the data for crosstabs. As the data is updated rather frequently, the waittime eats up a lot of time.

Any tweaks possible? Isn't this an issue of bug-class too?

Best
Rainer
