I don't think that Larry meant to say that the extension was somewhere
in the web advertised as being for OpenOffice.org only.

But technically, an extension comes with embedded information about the
minimum/maximum program version it is intended for. And this information
is not branded, that is, the extension claims to be for "OpenOffice.org
3.1". Our extension framework sadly does not "brand" this before showing
it to the user, so no matter whether you install the extension in
StarOffice or StarSuite or BrOffice or OpenOffice.org - if it's the
wrong version, you'll get an error message saying the "OpenOffice.org
3.1" is required.

Not sure whether there already exists an issue for this.
