I'm familiar with ikiwiki as well as markdown. There's no reasonable assertion that pushing markdown is comparable to editing a gdoc spreadsheet. In fact, I run an ikiwiki site that can only be updated via git push and as a result it's not longer updated. frankly I find it easier to code in raw html tags than using markdown. John
