Hello all. With the lack of users on the ETK IRC channel, I propose that we move to gitter. Unlike IRC, gitter does not require that users be logged in constantly, and it has been used to great success within the SymPy community: https://gitter.im/sympy/sympy . By default, you receive email notifications if someone poses a question directed at you, and notification settings can be adjusted to be noisier or less noisy as desired. Here's the gitter Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gitter.
I just set up an Einstein Toolkit gitter chat page: *https://gitter.im/Einstein-Toolkit/Einstein-Toolkit <https://gitter.im/Einstein-Toolkit/Einstein-Toolkit>* as well as a Performance Optimization Working Group chat page: https://gitter.im/Einstein-Toolkit/WG-Performance-Optimization Additional channels for working groups within the Toolkit can be set up under the Einstein-Toolkit/ subdirectory. Also, channel administration privileges can be added/modified as needed. You can log in to gitter using github or twitter. *Though gitter uses github credentials, it can also interface with bitbucket repos.* Gitter can also be accessed via desktop and mobile apps. Messages in gitter rooms are public, searchable, and stored to the cloud indefinitely. Also, private one-on-one chats are possible within gitter. -Zach * * * Zachariah Etienne Assistant Professor of Mathematics West Virginia University http://math.wvu.edu/~zetienne/ On Mon, Apr 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM, Roland Haas <rh...@illinois.edu> wrote: > Present: Roland, Peter, Bhavesh, Zach, Qian, > > US ET meeting in ATL: > * website: http://et-workshop18.physics.gatech.edu/ > * June 18 – June 20, 2018 > * registration page: http://et-workshop18.physics.gatech.edu/register/ > (not yet functional) > * will send announcements to hyperspace, facebook, Helvi Vitek, Einstein > Toolkit website (give access to website page to Bhavesh) > > wiki site: > * postpone until next week > > new user registration link: > * we think Frank set this up, so will have to contact him about what > could be going wrong.
