Hi Martin,

If I understand what you are saying, it doesn’t seem very osgi friendly to me.  
To me the “osgi way” would be to have the config admin service work from normal 
property files, databases, or what have you, and have ManagedProperties only 
work from configuration from config admin.  That way any configuration consumer 
in your system can rely on getting its configuration from config admin, whether 
or not it uses ManagedProperties.  If ManagedProperties gets all or part of its 
information from something other than config admin, then either every 
configuration consumer in your system has to use ManagedProperties or you run a 
risk of different consumers getting inconsistent data.  For instance, DS 
components can use multiple pids, where the idea is that there’s some “base” 
configuration used by a lot of components associated with one or more of the 
pids.  If one of the components uses ManagedProperties for this pid and some 
others use ds config-by-annotation, and ManagedProperties has conflicting info 
for this pid from config admin, the components will get conflicting 
configuration.
