Thanks Javier!!! For me, it looks like splashScreenScaleMode was the issue. I changed the value to letterbox because my app will be used on iOS and all sorts of Android tablets of which I won't know the aspect ratio for, and it seems to be working like a charm so far. Can't thank you enough!!!
