I hadn't thought about the ability to do a "svn diff" between URLs.
We've only been using SVN for about 9 months in production (12-15
personally) and for a lot of things we're still in the VSS+SourceOffSite
mentality. Although I'm pretty sure that you can do a svn diff between
repositories by fulling defining the URL?

I'm not sure whether it works with *different* repositories.

You're right, I just tried it - error message along the lines of "X" isn't in the same repository. Even when I specified two sets of full svn+ssh URLs. While the "svn help diff" page says:

3. diff [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

It doesn't specify that both URLs must be from the same repository. (The SVN book over at redbean really doesn't discuss that either.)

So you're correct; that is a good advantage for having things in a single repository. And I'm a bad geek for assuming that the documentation was hinting at a capability that doesn't exist.
