Hello Peter,
I am really excited to dive into FSVS, yet there is a concept that I
don't get. What is the use case of multiple URLs? I can not find

either.

Any pointers to documentation and/or explanations are more than welcome.
That seems to be a major lack of my ability to explain matters; you're not
the first to ask that.
Multiple repositories are not used to store *identical* data (to mirror
repositories use svnsync or similar); they store *different parts* of
machines.
Please take a look at these documents; if you already know them, do you
have any hint how I could improve them?
http://fsvs.tigris.org/source/browse/*checkout*/fsvs/trunk/www/doxygen/html/group__url__format.html
http://fsvs.tigris.org/purpose.html
http://fsvs.tigris.org/source/browse/*checkout*/fsvs/trunk/www/doxygen/html/group__howto__master__local.html
If these don't help, just ask again - then I'll provide another
explanation, in the hope that I can make myself understandable :-)
You know, now that you placed the above URLs _together_ it all fits in place.
Basically what you are lacking is a connection between the layered repository
layout (http://fsvs.tigris.org/purpose.html) and the fact that multiple URLs
automate the exact task of assembling the final version from multiple points
in the same tree (which seems to only be described in the HOW-TO). Everything
I read so far led me to believe that this combination process is _manual_ (and
subsequently I didn't care much for it). So the only change necessary to the
docs is explicitly mentioning the URL mechanism (perhaps with links to the
HOW-TO) everywhere the layered layout is mentioned. I think this'll do it for
thickheads like me :)
Cheers
Peter
