Given that this appeared on the list, I'd say you have subscribed successfully.
That's actually not a given -- unsubscribed posting is allowed, and there is no header for filtering
by "Delivered-To: moderator" as for the OOo lists. Only the moderator knows the poster is not
subscribed. Hopefully the moderators are giving people the information to follow the conversation
and, if appropriate, reply to messages in the thread.
There is a header "Archived-At" that supplies a link into the official archive. Unfortunately,
there are still some glitches with using that:
* The OP would need to see the message to get the header. Since by
definition that is not
happening for an unsubscribed poster, the link would have to be sent to
the OP directly by
somebody who (1) gets the message on the list, and (2) knows the user is
unsubscribed. So --
who can do this, and when?
* If the OP gets the link, follows the thread, and uses the Reply button,
the private address of
the respondent and not the list address is set up in the generated e-mail;
this needs to be
replaced with the list address.
* The OP is still not subscribed, so this message also will be moderated,
and therefore there
will be a delay before the list gets it. I don't know what the average lag
time is here, this
may not be significant if there are enough moderators.
Nabble and Gmane archives both deal well with the second and third issues, but the first remains;
somebody has to get the appropriate link, or instructions for finding it, to the OP.
