Draw and Impress are works-in-progress for the documentation team.  You might 
want to have a look at OpenOffice's documentation or wait a week or so.

There is the toolbar Drawing. By default at the bottom of the window.
That toolbar has buttons, among them "connetor" and "flow chart".
(You can click-drag the buttons from the toolbar and thus create a new toolbar).
Click on a shape/line of your choise.
(Release the mouse)
Now drag the shape on the document.
Well, the rest should be be pretty straight forward: ends of lines can be 
connected, the right mouse button gives a rich context menu..

You can also have a look at the documentation - sure there must be lots of 
details about Draw/Impress :-)
