Hi :) Since trying to recover the document ends with big problems i think you have to try cancelling the recovery. It sounds like there might be a few different problems. Hopefully clearing the recovery problem might make it clear how to solve the next problem. I would go back to 3.3.2 anyway.

The following files will be recovered: "show a empty box" Clicking on the "OK", shuts down LibreOffice, after briefly showing a small display just prior to shutting down. unable to discern the contents of this window.
