The OP may find it useful to read the document at <http://dotancohen.com/howto/rtl_right_to_left.html>. It is written with an eye to Hebrew, but RTL is RTL, and the discussion, if not the displayed examples, applies equally well to Farsi. That document will shortly be revised and even more instructive.
