I don't want the find toolbar displayed all the time.
I can close it with the tool menu (that I get to through the small,
inobvious triangle that I only found because Stuart told us about it in
the message quoted below), but the blank bar is still there eating
screen space. I can close the find tool bar completely with
view|toolbar
unselect Find
I don't want the find bar occupying screen real estate all the time, I
don't want it there by default, and it is a bit of a hassle to go to the
view menu to remove it.
The find tool should not be there all the time. It wasn't in earlier OO
and LO versions. The find tool needs a "close button".
How do I easily make the find tool go away after use?

Use the View --> Toolbars --> Find menu to toggle the Find box On.
Then grab any toolbar and drag it to undock --> open the tool menu (down
triangle) and select Dock ALL Toolbars.
That should return the active Find toolbar to its default docked location and
allow<Ctl>+F activation.
