Many thanks for that, it proves to me that the problem is unquestionably with the video playback. If I replace the video by a photo, all the effects I am trying to apply work ( fade in from slide background, fade out to slide background etc.) as I would expect. Replace the photo by a video and apply the same transitions and nothing has any effect, it won't fade (in or out) just sits there showing the first frame of the video until you start it, then shows the last frame after the video finishes. I'm not sure whether to regard this as a misfeature or a flat-out bug in the media-player. Since I don't think what I am trying to achieve is unreasonable, let me spell it out in detail :- 1) Advance to slide in question - Displaying introductory text etc. only 2) Click - Video fades in from slide background, plays through, then fades back to slide background. 3) Click to advance slide.
I could kludge up the effect by using a sequence of slides with rapid transitions, but I want to be able to do it all on one slide so I can easily re-order things. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Videos-mpeg-etc-in-Impress-tp3449375p3504374.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
