Hi :) It sounds like the package manager thought another package manager was open at the same time. Try closing anything such as "Software Centre", "Add/Remove programs", "Synaptic Package Manager" and so on. Then run
sudo dpkg --configure -a That should sort the package managers out. Then i think you just need to find a way of reinstalling LibreOffice or find the "fix broken packages" feature. I have not used unopkg as i prefer gui front-ends such as Synaptic. In synaptic it would be something like Edit - "Fix broken packages" I don't think this can be solved by renaming the user-profile but that might be worth giving a go maybe. Errr, did you already have OpenOffice or NeoOffice on your machine? You can install them alongside each other but you need to follow the advice of the guide otherwise there can be problems http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel Regards from Tom :) --- On Mon, 12/12/11, Heinrich Stoellinger <[email protected]> wrote: From: Heinrich Stoellinger <[email protected]> Subject: [libreoffice-users] unopkg lock To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Date: Monday, 12 December, 2011, 9:09 Hello, I tried to install LibreOffice 3.4 on Linux-Mint-Lisa using "dpkg -i *deb" on the various packages downloaded. I must have messed up something along the line because I keep getting the message "ERROR: unopkg cannot be started. The lock file indicates it as already running. If this does not apply, delete the lock file at:" I then delete the file ".lock" in the indicated directory. When I then rerun dpkg -i the same thing happens. When I then try to start LibreOffice I get the "flash screen", but LO doesn't stay up.
